Ballard School Board Meeting Summary

KEY ACTIONS

East & West Elementary HVAC Update

Chad Hutson, with Story Construction, provided an update to the board regarding the HVAC replacement projects at both East and West Elementary. Both schools are currently on track with original timeline estimates. Portable classrooms, which will be used in the 2024-2025 school year, are getting prepared so that they will be ready for the first day of school.

East & West Elementary Entrance Project

Due to supplier issues, it is anticipated that some of the project will need to be pushed to a break or possibly next summer. A better timeline update will be provided at the August meeting.

City of Huxley Trail Easement

The board approved granting the easement to the City of Huxley as the work to develop a trail in a new development area near Ballard High School. The City will be covering all construction costs and maintenance of the trail.  

Food Service Prices for 2024 – 2025 School Year

The board approved updated Food Service prices for the 2024-2025 school year as followed:

Breakfast $2.10 for students – $0.10 increase from 2023-2024 prices

Breakfast $2.50 for adults – $0.15 increase from 2023-2024 prices

Lunch $3.60 for elementary students and $3.80 for secondary students – $0.20 increase from 2023-2024 prices

Lunch $5.05 for adults – $0.20 increase from 2023-2024 prices

Second student lunch $5.05 for elementary students and $5.05 for secondary students – $0.20 increase from 2023-2024 prices
